The Betuweroute (sometimes also called the Betuwelijn) is part of the Rail Freight Corridor, a European network of rail corridors throughout Europe.
A unique freight rail route in the Netherlands with a length of 172 kilometers and one of the so-called large infrastructure projects. With a total cost of € 4.7 billion, it is also one of the largest and most expensive projects the Dutch government has ever undertaken.
